Card Island had a goal: to become the leading supplier of premium custom-printed greeting cards on the Internet. Achieving this goal required an expansion of inventory and simplification of the buying process to set the company apart from its competitors.
Card Island wanted to give customers the ability to select and change colors, dynamically choose verses, and write custom text. Each option had to appear instantly on the card image as it was made, along with any price adjustments. On the backend, orders had to be routed to card suppliers responsible for fulfilling the orders.
The company approached Acro Media for a custom ecommerce solution that could meet these needs without jeopardizing Card Island's control over products and categories.
Acro Media designed a new Web site for Card Island and integrated the StoreBox ecommerce solution - increasing search engine visibility instantly. With StoreBox, customers can select from a vast catalog of cards and view any alterations they make - along with any cost implications. This capability not only increases the customer's willingness to purchase, it also distinguishes Card Island from other online vendors.
We customized the categorization of products and vendors in StoreBox to allow a cross-reference between vendors, verses, colors and cards. Card Island can assign verses, cards and prices at the individual card or vendor level. When an order is placed, StoreBox automatically notifies the right suppliers to ensure timely and accurate shipping of customer orders.
